Murals can be used in so many different ways to influence a space. They can make a small space look big, they can make a dull area look bright, they can be amusing and bring a smile to your face, they can be deceiving and most of all they can be colourful.

Murals can be painted on almost any surface: garage doors, pebble dash, doors, brick, render, wood, etc.

Malvern Mural

This is a door sized recess space in a garden wall in Malvern Wells. The garden area has a Mediterranean feeling to it so I decided to create a landscape with vineyards and olive groves. To give it a more interesting slant I chose to give the effect of it being a balcony, so that you are looking down upon the roof of an adjoining building, complete with doves. To add a note of humour I perched a dove on the railings.

Exhibitions:
I will be exhibiting and demonstrating at the Malvern Autumn Garden Show (RHS) on the permanent garden stand with Alchemy Design & Landscapes. Please come along and say hello.

Commissions:
If you would like a mural in your home or garden, please contact me to have an initial discussion regarding size and cost. Once we have discussed the basics, I can prepare a small image to explain my design ideas. When a plan for the work has been agreed, I can give a firm price.

The price of a mural depends on the size and detail required. A small mural can start from as little as £300, usually they are between £750 to £2000.

  Builth Shop Mural
This was the biggest project I have tackled to date, being 1000 square feet in size. It describes the historic tale of the last battle and the death of Llywelyn the last Prince of Wales who was killed near Builth Wells and buried at Abbey-Cwm-Hir.

Castle Court Yard Mural
The proprietor had erected a sculpture that had a Greek theme.

The decision was taken to create a mural to develop the Ancient Greek theme further, so I painted a pool with a view out to sea and a distant village. The pool had a mosaic floor.

JCB Mural
This was an unusual project for a commercial company (a builder's merchants)

The theme was 'building in a rural environment' and this is just a detail from the mural. This was executed on wooden panels that were fixed into position, making it a portable image.
